Interim report, Q1 2007

Sustained strong growth for NIBE Industrier

Today’s interim report for NIBE for the period January–March 2007 shows sustained strong growth in both sales and profits.

  • Sales rose by 24% to SEK 1,285 million (Q1 2006: SEK 1,034 million)
  • Profit after net financial items rose by 21.7% to SEK 108.7 million (SEK 89.3 million)
  • Earnings per share totalled SEK 0.83 (SEK 0.66).

“We can look back on a strong start to the year in terms of both sales and earnings,” says Gerteric Lindquist, CEO of NIBE Industrier. “We are continuing to capture new shares of the market in all three business areas. For NIBE Heating and NIBE Element the market as a whole is developing positively, although the market for NIBE Stoves’ products is somewhat weaker.

“NIBE Element continues to show strong growth and the operating margin continues to improve.

“NIBE Heating is also experiencing strong organic growth, with no let-up in the demand for environmentally friendly, energy-efficient products, especially heat pumps.

“For NIBE Stoves, there has been a slight downturn in the market, particularly in Germany and Denmark. However, we are working with unremitting energy on new product launches and are in the process of building a new production facility. We are, in other words, looking forward with confidence to a strong second half to the year, as has traditionally been the case,” concludes Gerteric Lindquist.
